Removal of Injector Cup Sleeve:

  1. Thoroughly clean the injector cup sleeve.
  2. Lubricate the tap (optional).
  3. Ensure the tap and sleeve are centered so the tap does not rotate at an offset angle.
  4. Slowly begin rotating the tap into the injector cup sleeve.
Note: Rotating the tap clockwise and counterclockwise a few times helps release metal shavings from the sleeve.
    • About 4-5 full rotations should be enough to create threads deep enough for the extractor bolt.
  5. Insert the extractor bolt and carefully align the threads with the tapped cup sleeve.
Note: Take your time and ensure the threads are properly seated in the sleeve.
  6. Install the guide sleeve with the stepped lip into the injector hole to protect the injector chamber during removal.
    • Then, install the bearing and nut onto the extractor bolt. Rotate clockwise until you feel a release in pressure. Remove the tool and cup sleeve.

Installation of Injector Cup Sleeve:

  1. Place the new cup sleeve onto the working end of the installation guide tool.
    • Check the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines for lubrication or thread-locker application on the new sleeve.
  2. Insert the installer tool with the cup sleeve into the injector chamber and give it a firm push to align the sleeve.
  3. Use a rubber mallet or low-impact hammer to fully seat the new cup sleeve.
  4. Remove the installer tool and repeat the process for the remaining injector cup sleeves.
